Hello Ridejoy,

My car and I are driving to Chicago from Denver, and have room for one person. I am a Stanford postdoc, and my car is a Saab 9-3 convertible named Samantha (Sammy).

Sammy has a manual transmission and a CD folder loaded with hipster jams. I like to listen to music or NPR. I like driving with the top down because I think that is the whole point of having a convertible. I plan to do most of the driving, perhaps all. You can be in charge of the radio, snacks, and coming up with scintillating conversation topics. Smoking tobacco is okay; the smoke dissipates quickly with the top down.
